Mitchum’s family is so rude to Rory. Can’t you guys get it? His son Logan picked Rory and Rory was flawless and Mitchum’s family should have accepted the girl whom Logan loved. Are they the Royal family and they are selecting Princess Diana for Prince Charles? Who can say someone is not enough to be a bride for his son? Rory was not a married girl or an Alien!

It’s so odd that the Chilton headmaster doesn’t see getting a PhD as admirable. He and Rory do not see it as the “real world,” when everyone I’ve talked to who has gotten a PhD talks about how difficult it is. It certainly isn’t an easy way out. Personally, I could have seen Rory as a professor. Her research skills from investigative journalism would come in handy.

being best friends first and mother and daughter second is exactly why rory turned out the way she did. all she and everyone else did was coddle rory so she was never prepared for the real world. she never faced any hardships. lorelai did but that was her choice which made her mentally strong and able to handle a lot. rory was given everything from her mom, grandparents and the town so she fell apart once she was in the real world where she wasn't handled with care and was treated the same as everyone else.

She is unreliable, bratty and ungrateful who seems to have a flair for self sabotaging her career. And don't get me started on her unhealthy, continuously loose character when it comes to dating people or breaking marriages. I think she failed herself

Me and my mom have a Rory and Lorie relationship

She should never have gone to the fancy school in the first place. Should have never been a snob about education. Her mother should never have made her grandparents pay for time together. They should have just had time together from the start. And the writers should not have made the show decidedly woke. Why is the entertainment world insistent on make young Americans feel there is something wrong with them? That there is something they are grappling with they have to figure out? She was 5 going on 35 because of her mother being a child perpetually her entire life and someone had to be the grown up. She is just tired of being a grown up.

As someone who’s currently going through Rory’s situation, I peaked in high school, had really good grades, but now I’m struggling facing real life. It’s only now that I realize these things. I did not know better back then, but I want to do better now. Has anyone else overcome this? If so, how? Please, I really need help guys 😢

I never liked how she treated the maids

I understand why she didn't tell Emily she's getting married. I don't feel bad for Emily at all.. tell her why? So she could have time enough to sneak off and find a way to break them up. Send Lorelai out with someone whom she and Richard feel is much more suitable for THEIR standards. They do that to every character they come across. Luke needs a better diner cause it's not good enough to them. The inn needs this instead of that. Rory needs a better car, a better boyfriend, a better school, and now she doesn't need school. They take over with information. My family is quite similar minus the wealth.

Rorys story is one of trying to achieve something she thought she wanted bc ahe wanted to be like her mother. Independent. And making it on her own, even raising a kid on your own. Bc her mother did the same. But shes not like her mother and doesnt have the grit like her mother. Shes an Emily. And its OKAY, to be an Emily. Its okay to do well organizing DARs, doing charity work, and making parties. But she didnt want to bc she felt she NEEDED to be like her mother. I just wish Lorelai told her its okay.

This scene depicts Richard accepting that Rory might not have IT. That possibility that Rory might just be average after all and the reality that she might not be cut out to be like him or a high businesswoman and him not knowing how to feel after looking at her with a more realistic set of eyes that are of a businessman and not her grandfather who wants to give her everything

I thonk Mitchum is right. It is ridicplous that a 20 years old girl get a negative feedback at an internship and Grandpa steps in. If I cried on every negative feedback I received from some professors, I wouldn ot have a degree. Its a bad joke.

Must have been nice to be treated as a God. In my family, Gods were often molested, beaten, trapped in closets, left in trap houses. Called subhuman for the way they looked and acted. Yeah, that sounds like a God we know, huh?

As much as I understood Lorelai and what she did, my heart was always breaking for Emily and Richard in certain situations.

As a gifted kid who's just 14 years old, I want to share my side of the story, if any of you guys are interested. I was born in a poor-middle class family with my twin brother. We were both told to work hard, and achieve our dreams the moment we were born. Since the start of my childhood years, my twin brother and I would be secretly or directly compared against each other, both academically and emotionally. It caused me to think that I wasn't good enough, and that I would never be, compared to my brother. In elementary school; my family was financially struggling and I was pressured to work harder and help my family in any case possible. I didn't have any friends, I used to get constantly bullied generally because of my "academic obsession"/success and felt like people would never like me the way I was, so I decided to change. At the end of elementary school, our family was in a better financial state, and my mom decided to apply for a scholarship in a private middle school for both of us. My brother got a higher scholarship than me, but we were both accepted. Just the start of 5th grade, was when the pandemics started, and I was already burnt out. In the next 3 years of middle school, I always tried to make friends and fit in a social circle in general. This year, in 8th grade, I was supposed to study for a High School Exam, which is known for it's though questions. As a gifted kid, my brother and I never really studied for the exam, thinking we were going to do just fine. But the exam time came, and we both eventually flopped. Now I don't know what do in highschool anymore.

You can really see the hurt in Emily's eyes when Lorelai asks her why she never cares. Despite how overbearing and controlling she is, Emily has never once stopped caring. Great acting by Kelly Bishop.

i hate lorelie in the last scene. ihate her reaction bc i think it stems from her not wanting rory to move away. she cant handle the fact that someone is gonna have more of rory than her and she cant handle letting rory go. she's o clingy
